Sparrow Film Project

The Sparrow Film Project is a film competition based in Astoria, New York, wherein filmmakers are given three weeks to make a three minute film.  For the 10th anniversary, the theme was Sound and Vision, and filmmakers were randomly assigned a piece of music and a piece of art that had to be incorporated in some way.

I decided to use the opportunity to try my hand at making my first stop-motion animated collage.  The resulting film, "Lightweight," was nominated for Best Editing and Best Production Design.

On December 6, 2018, "Lightweight" was screened at the Museum of the Moving Image and at the award ceremony won for Best Production Design.
